With images of Syrian refugees living in extreme conditions, many Canadians are thanking their condition and thinking how to improve their situation.  They are trying to find the best meal.

Syrians in refugee camps are thinking more about where to sleep, how to keep their teeth clean, how to survive getting old, even though they will (hopefully) turn 45 at some point and thinking about the health of friends and family who’ve been taken prisoner and children in refugee camps.  There have been many fundraisers to help Syrian refugees.  To make sure the funds raised are used for most necessary health products there’s a UN body to oversee: the WHO (World Health Organization).

The Human Car on the Road Stage

Self-driving; closer than ever before

Cars.  They’ve become a natural part of the human habitat; you see them on the road everyday.  But there’s always someone behind the “wheel”.  There they are, watching the road, looking at the traffic lights, looking out for the buses, making sure they don’t run over someone who decided to walk, and always making sure they don’t scratch the car driving next to them that has a driver too.  Soon, the driver will become obsolete.  The car will drive itself.

Students for Syria at York

Student movements and campaigns for Syrians at York University

Presently there’s a fragile truce organized led by USA with cooperation from Russia and present Syrian president Bashar al-Assad; it does not include rebels and has seen a continuation of exchange in fire. Using the truce the UN is working to bring humanitarian aid to war stricken areas. Journalists including CBC are using it to gather information and provide pictures of war-torn regions.  Throughout the war community activists to bring attention to the crisis and have created opportunities for the public to assist.  This includes students at York University.
