Yesterday at Sochi Canadian women shot the puck to the back of the American net to win the Gold Medal Final in Women’s Hockey.  Today, the Men’s Semi-Finals, Canada vs. USA (#CANvsUSA for both on Twitter).  Around the world Canadians came to a halt, not just students on Reading Work in the Great White North or employees who’d “called in sick”, but the Canadian Embassy in Washington DC, Toronto City Council, the Press Building in Sochi, and schools.

Why? Students weren’t just watching hockey, they were learning about Canadian culture and the Olympics and lessons in life.

Snowbirds Not Flying South

Budget cut forces Snowbirds to reduce airshows

Because of budget cuts Canadian Snowbirds’ Shows to the United States have been cancelled, what the Oregon Air Show calls a big blow.

According to CBC the reason for this is because their flying time was cut.

Let Bieber Be

He’s still a kid

So, it’s been reported now that Justin Bieber’s plane has been held up in New Jersey because there was the smell of pot.  This is after he was mug shot in Canada and America for alleged charges of DUI and assault.  He’s been in the media spotlight for going to a nightclub a day after turning himself in to a Police station in Toronto and receiving more than 100,000 signatures on a White House petition for deportation.  Isn’t he still a teenager?
