Xpressions Against Oppression (XAO), a campaign launched by the York Federation of Students (YFS) aimed to bring social change by tapping into revolutionary feelings of empathy through various forms of resistance, began to take action against growing Student Loans On Tuesday, October 1 by starting the Wall of Debt in Vari Hall at York University.

The POW (Prisoner of War)

After the combat of war, there are the victors and the vanquished.  In the hands of the victors, from the vanquished, are the Prisoners of War.  According to International Humanitarian Law prisoners of war also have rights.

Before they can be given rights, prisoners of war must first be defined.

York Frosh: Keeping Skirts and Jeans Down at Parties

First week in and York already made the news. On  CTV: “Police [are] in search for a sexual assault suspect” for a sexual groping, “touching her in an inappropriate manner” at a Frosh party on Stong College according to the Security Bulletin released by York on September 6.  On September 18 The Excalibur reported an arrest in relation to a sexual assault on September 15.  Week three and Security Bulletin 1 is issued for its Glendon campus. But compared to what first-years learnt at the Orientation/Frosh weeks at other schools, York is “sexually tame”.
