Pie with piMarch 14 is considered Pi Day, a celebration mathematics and consumption of a great desert is tasted.  Pi Day (03.14) is celebrated annually as the basic, recognising one of the greatest constants to mathematicians.  True Pi Day may not be celebrated until 3141, May 9 (3.14159), on March 14, 15926.  It may have been celebrated on 3.141592653, May 14, 1592, 6:53 (am or pm).  Pi Day won’t come until March 14 next year if you choose to read it at 2 decimals (3.14), 1:59.26 (am), if it’s read at 7 decimal places.  There’s more to pi than the decimals.

To Cheer or Not to Cheer, That is a Fear

Is it safe to NOT cheer for Canada?

Hockey male-femaleIt’s confirmed.  Canadian Men and Women have been eliminated from the hockey finals in PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics.  Even though hockey is the Canadian sport and Canadians have a 6-month practice season, the men and women have both been held back from Gold.  Despite a nail-biting end in a shootout Canadian women were kept away by the detested Americans; they will return North with Silver around their necks.  A loss to Germany in the semi-finals has sent Canadian men to the Bronze competition with Czech Republic.  Gold-Silver will be a battle between Germany and Olympic Athletes from Russia.  The question now: if you’re a Canadian are you allowed to cheer for the opponent?

Changing Face of Bullying

Who, how, and what is a bully today?

When you think of a bully the first image that often comes to mind is the school bully, the biggest boy in the school yard who’s holding up the little guy’s collar and demanding lunch money.  There’s more to bullying than the big boy.

A bully is a blustering, browbeating person, especially one who is habitually cruel, insulting, or threatening to others who are weaker, smaller.  Whether it’s the stereotypical schoolyard boy or the mean boss who makes others work over time, traditionally it refers to a single individual who makes life harder for others.  Today bullying is categorized in multiple forms.  The bully can be an individual or a group that makes life hard for someone or a group, the victim.
