Canada: The 51st State or More than 10 Provinces

Donald Trump’s campaign pledge of buying Greenland and later calling “Canada the 51st” state were seen as joke.  After his repetition of Canada becoming the 51st state of USA and a statement by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, they’ve been taken by politicians and civilians as threats.  On the other hand there is a wide range of discussion on social media of whether the entire USA or some states can become provinces of Canada.  Some are serious while some are jokes.  The question: Can Canada actually become the 51st state; can states leave the USA and become provinces of Canada?

It’s true!  The Federal AND Provincial governments, the public, Canadian celebrities and large corporations actually agree on something (unsurprisingly it’s hockey).  Although the Toronto Blue Jays are in the post-season with home field advantage, first time since 2016, Hockey Canada is the centre of sports talk.

The Queen in Canada: A Long and Valuable History

It’s touched the world. On September 8 Queen Elizabeth II passed away. Some have had individual interaction with the Queen. 15 Prime Ministers in UK had personal meetings after being voted in. To many she was a mother or grandmother. Worldwide she had a strong image, someone who could bring hope and peace. In Canada people had different view and she had a different meaning for many.
