A rallying cry from sports that Canadians use

Sports are a strong part of culture and society today. They are a part of culture – how a group of people identify themselves, and society – how people relate to each other. Sports can be part of national culture and society – how a country identifies itself and how people relate. Although they are part of the same continent, Canada, USA, and Mexico have different national sports. Canada has used it’s national sport – the cultural sport that people of the country identify with and the societal sport, the sport people use to relate to each other. Recently it’s been used to develop a national rallying cry.

With President Donald Trump’s tariffs on Canada and threat of making Canada the 51st state has brought a sense of nationalism across the country.  Even people in Quebec have called themselves Canadian (rare in Canada).  But why does President Trump really want Canada as the 51st state?

Zee, Zed or Exit? That is the question

Donald Trump’s campaign pledge of buying Greenland and later calling “Canada the 51st” state were seen as joke.  After his repetition of Canada becoming the 51st state of USA and a statement by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, they’ve been taken by politicians and civilians as threats.  On the other hand there is a wide range of discussion on social media of whether the entire USA or some states can become provinces of Canada.  Some are serious while some are jokes.  The question: Can Canada actually become the 51st state; can states leave the USA and become provinces of Canada?
