On May 5 Governor General signed officially the Writs of Elections and kicked of the Ontario Provincial Election scheduled for June 12. The leaders had already been campaigning, touring the province and speaking about why they should be chosen. So what’s on their minds this time?

Not so long ago a couple of men in what was then a British colony decided to get together and form a new nation. They called it Canada. These men (aka “the Fathers of Confederation”) decided that the nation’s federal Parliament should have two chambers: an upper chamber that was supposed to be a “sober second thought” to legislation created by the House of Commons, Canadian politicians elected by Canadians. Is that what they are today?

October 2011: Ontario’s last provincial election; federal slightly earlier (May 2011). So now Ontario is scheduled to hit the polls twice again in 2015 within 3 weeks (October 1 provincially, October 19 nationally), after recovering from election fever set to end with municipal votes on October 27, 2014. But campaigning has already begun (2 Ontario by-elections; February 13, 2014); could it predict the future?
